Brand storyteller and strategist 🏡
What I do
-
In the world of brand marketing, everything is storytelling and storytelling is everything. I’ll partner with you to get to the root of what makes your business unique and explore strategies for bringing that to life across a range of channels and platforms, from site experience to email flows, product marketing, and editorial projects.
I have a soft spot for early-stage companies who are building from scratch, beginning to find their voice, and looking to break the mold.
-
Brand voice shapes what you say and how you say it. I’ll partner with you to develop guardrails that make sense for your business as it exists today and as it evolves in the future. Getting clear on what’s “right” for your brand gives your marketing, sales, and CX teams guardrails to play within and work more effectively.
Most importantly, I’ll develop a voice and tone guide that’s actually actionable based on your team and resources (no abstract, esoteric frameworks here).
-
Should your brand be on Substack? What about LinkedIn thought leadership? Do we need to start a podcast?
I’ll partner with you to identify opportunities for authentic, engaging, effective brand storytelling. I’m accustomed to working with limited budgets and taking an incremental, data-informed approach.
-
Good copy puts the end user first and speaks directly to their needs, hopes, motivations, and fears. I write with an eye toward inclusivity and empathy, keeping a particular focus on the emotional benefits of a product or service.
I’ve written copy for websites, product pages, social media, UX / UI, emails, and more. I easily flex into longform writing and have experience with ghostwriting.
-
Pushing a brand forward often means looking beyond business as usual. Whether you have something in mind or want to brainstorm special projects, I can support with the strategy, production, and execution of out-of-the-box marketing efforts, particularly those rooted in content.
Think: Podcasts, shortform video, longform editorial projects, and interactive guides.
Who you are
You’re a new or established business looking to nail down how you show up to your customers. Maybe you’re looking for marketing fundamentals to help get you off the ground, or maybe you’re looking for someone to support with an experimental project that will push your brand forward. You’re not looking for long, formal decks padded with fluff; you’re looking for nuanced, actionable guidance that will allow you to test, learn, and iterate today for longterm success. You might be a venture-backed company, a bootstrapped brand, or a small agency. You care about relationships, communication, and doing things differently.
How I work
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all ways of working. I tailor my scopes to the needs, systems, strategies, and capabilities of each individual client. My ultimate goal is to leave my client with something that’s actually useful, actionable, and pushes their work forward. I work quickly and precisely and value feedback in all forms.
My favorite projects begin with strategy and evolve into an ongoing retainer, like a 4-week messaging sprint followed by a copywriting retainer. I often recommend brief trial projects to new clients to give you a sense of what it’s like to work with me before committing to a larger scope.
Who I’ve worked with 💎
… and more
I’m a Swiss Army Knife who sculpts durable, scalable marketing programs from the ground up. I’m a lifelong learner driven by curiosity and empathy. I process thoughts and ideas through writing and actively seek out resources that reshape my worldview. I care a lot.
As the second marketing hire at Alma, I laid the foundation for our brand strategy, launched audience insights, built lifecycle and product marketing programs, oversaw social media strategy, and wore many hats.
Before that, I managed copy, content, and product marketing at Daily Harvest.
Once upon a time, I worked in media.
Who I am
I write a newsletter about marketing trends and consumer culture. Since 2019, I’ve garnered more than 10,000 subscribers ranging from investors, founders, marketing operators, industry leaders, agency heads, and people who just really like brands.
I’ve been cited in Buzzfeed and Modern Retail, featured on the Well Made and Future Commerce podcasts, interviewed by Hashtag Paid, and more.
